Make the map displayable only by pressing a button

The button can be such as "m". This allows the player to have a more realistic screen. Games like INsurgency and Day of Infamy are like this and have maybe the most realistic interface in all fps games. Verdun is not far from that and can achieve to be even more authentic and realistic.

It's a new feature in Tannenberg and since there are plans to port over the new UI being made for Tannenberg to Verdun when finished, this feature might be ported over as well. Can't say for sure at this time though.

I hope it gets ported over, if only so that NCOs can use it to tell their squads how to approach the enemy trench with the lines and markers.

And so that sending a recon plane over the enemy trench on maps like Picardie or Flanders actually gives you useful intel and not just red arrows squished together at the edge of the mini-map because the map is too large to display the enemy trench on it unless you're almost there.

I could see a full sized map of a Frontlines map being a little difficult to show on screen, so in order to minimize that concern. An Overview Map in Frontlines could be solely focused on the NML for the attackers, and focused on the NML behind the defenders' trench.

If something a little more dynamic isn't that plausible, anyway. Where the focus changes depending on where the player is in relation to their team's objective. (E.g. A defender in their objective/trench would have full view of the contested NML and some of the enemy's trench / jump-off point. - The first mock-up but reversed.)

I don't think OP is asking for the grave-accent full map view, it sounds like he is asking for the mini-map to be hidden except for when you press a button. I don't think this should be added. I do support porting the TB full-map view.

Yeah sounds like that to me, personally not a fan of that. Can turn the HUD off already and use the tactical key to show it which does the same in game.
